Contracting Services

Texas Aquatic Harvesting Inc.(TAH) offers a broad range of contract services in the removal of aquatic vegetation.  TAH provides an environmentally safe method of removing aquatic vegetation.  T.A.H has been under contract for the past ten years with various state agencies throughout Florida and has proven to be a remarkable asset in controlling the aquatic weed problems in Florida.  T.A.H. has participated in the removal of tussocks, mud islands, muck from lake bottoms, canal widening, clearing and general maintenance of lakes, water bodies and surrounding areas. We have also performed the replanting of desirable vegetation where fish and natural lake wildlife can spawn.

Texas Aquatic Harvesting Inc., (TAH)  has an assortment of harvesting equipment that enables us to meet a wide variety of needs for aquatic weed control.  Our line of harvesting equipment ranges in size from 20 ft. to 90 ft.  harvesters, shore conveyors, airboats, two (2) "Cookie Cutters", Drag Line cranes, Floating barges, Track hoes & Bulldozers, Dump trucks, Pumps and specialty Dredging tools for land clearing and dewatering of lakes, ponds etc.  The large harvesters were originally designed and built for the removal of hydrilla and water hyacinth.  However, because of the size and capabilities of these machines, and the fact that floating mud islands or tussocks have become a major problem in Florida, we now specialize in the removal of floating islands or tussocks.  These harvesters are capable of handling the heavy muck, trees and vegetation that make up a floating tussock.  The load capacity of these machines ranges from 10 to 15 tons.  The storage capacity on the large harvester make it more economical than any of the smaller machines available.  The large harvesters move five to six times the material the smaller harvesters can.  These harvesters have the capability to push acres of tussocks closer to the disposal sites for a quicker and more efficient removal of vegetation.  All of our machines, large and small, can harvest both submersed and floating plants.  The smaller aquatic weed harvesters are not recommended for harvesting floating tussocks due to the undue wear-and-tear this application can cause.  In extreme cases, the heavy weight of the material being harvested can result in the smaller harvesters capsizing.  Our smaller aquatic weed harvesters are well-suited for canal and clean up work.  When dump sites are not allowed on the body of water being cleaned, shore conveyors are used.  Shore conveyors enable the vegetation to be off-loaded onto a dump truck and the debris removed to a designated dump site.  TAH also has the "Cookie Cutter" and the "Tiger Cut."  These are unique machines that chop their way through extremely dense vegetation.  They are used to cut trails and to chop floating tussocks.  With our broad range of equipment sizes and capabilities, Texas Aquatic Harvesting Inc., can meet whatever aquatic harvesting needs you may have.
